The 2021 APRA Professional Development Award (PDA) winners have been announced, with recipients being awarded the accolade along with a $10,000 grant and a range of prizes from Australis Music.

The awards, which range across a multitude of musical genres and disciplines, aims to showcase the hardworking individuals throughout Australia who continue to make strides within the industry. 

“Our objective and intention with the Professional Development Awards is simple," APRA AMCOS Chief Executive Dean Ormston stated. "[To] provide recognition and financial support to developing songwriters and composers, so they can continue to follow their dream,”

Winners across the categories include Alex Lahey, Elle Graham (AKA Woodes), Jessica Koroi (AKA Jesswar), The Buckleys lead singer Sarah Buckley and many more.

Busby Marou member Jeremy Marou was also awarded the annual Smugglers of Light Foundation Music and Media Award, in recognition of his tireless efforts working with young artists in his community.
