After an extremely challenging year for the live music industry, today's announcement of Queensland's newest festival Brisbane Winter Sessions is an entirely welcome one, set to bring an unrivalled line up to celebrate the River City's bustling live music industry and community.

In conjunction with Brisbane City Council, triple j and QMusic, the Winter Sessions will commence on Thursday 5 August, and run until Wednesday 11th August, offering an array of talent, venues and also a mix of ticketed and free events.

The festival events will also include a variety of experiences across the six days, with the Fortitude Music Hall set to transform into a 360-stage hyper-visual experience, and other special events including Drag Night at The Zoo, The Triffid's annual Brisbane Burger Fest, and The Prince Consort Hotel set to pay homage to Brisbane musician and journalist, with the Ritchie Yorke All Star Gig starring Winter Sessions Ambassador and ARIA award-winner Tyrone Noonan (founding member of George) alongside fellow local industry legends Ian Haug (ex-Powderfinger) and Nik Phillips.

Artists including Miiesha, Thy Art Is Murder, Nina Las Vegas, No Money Enterprise, RVG, Sweater Curse, A Swayze & The Ghosts, Trophy Eyes, Haley Mary, Last Dinosaurs, Press Club, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Bad//Dreems, Ben Ely, Velociraptor and stacks more are set to perform throughout the festival. See the full line-up below.

Offering an extra-special chance to commemorate the thriving local scene as well as the tenacity of so many throughout the COVID pandemic, Brisbane Winter Sessions is set to help the local community celebrate and grow together, as summed up best by Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner in a recent statement.

“This festival is all about supporting Brisbane’s great live music industry who have done it incredibly tough over the past 12 months,” Schrinner said.

“My council is proud to support Winter Sessions as it will provide a much-needed boost to the local music industry at a critical time in its post-pandemic recovery.

“By coming along to one of more than 30 free and ticketed events, you’ll be supporting local venues, local artists and all of the passionate people who work behind the scenes to ensure Brisbane’s vibrant and diverse live music scene is alive and thriving."
