
Tributes have been flowing in for SOPHIE who passed away at the weekend.
The Guardian has reported that the Scottish artist and producer passed away at age 34 at her home in Athens around 4am on Saturday "following a sudden accident".
SOPHIE's label Transgressive has released a statement saying, "Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident."
"True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us," read the statement.
"The family thank everyone for their love and support and request privacy at this devastating time."
Flume, Christine & The Queens, FKA Twigs, Tkay Maidza and more are among those paying tribute to SOPHIE.
"Sophie was a stellar producer, a visionary, a reference," said Chris in a post to Twitter.
"She rebelled against the narrow, normative society by being an absolute triumph, both as an artist and as a woman. I can’t believe she is gone. We need to honor and respect her memory and legacy. Cherish the pioneers."
"I'm sorry this is messy I deleted this three times I feel like it's hard to handle the information correctly," added Chris in a follow-up post. "I just want to say how much she matters."
"There is no one like SOPHIE," said Flume in a post. "A true genius, a pioneer, a friend. You changed the world forever. I love you."
"RIP SOPHIE. so devastating - a true pioneer and icon," shared Maidza.
"Everything she touched was exciting, fearless and beyond innovative - you could really feel her soul in the music so beautiful, raw & fearless. i’m so thankful to have existed in a time where i could be inspired by sophie in real time. god bless."
Sophie was best-known for works like BIPP, It's Okay To Cry and LEMONADE, as well as working with artists like Flume, Madonna, Charli XCX and more.
