Oztix | News | The Grammy Awards Have Been Postponed

The 2021 Grammy Awards have officially been postponed.

The annual music awards ceremony was due to take place on 31 January with Rolling Stone reporting that it is now likely to be held in March due to COVID-19 concerns.

The event was due to be a limited ceremony with just presenters and performers on-site, with nominated artists to receive awards remotely.

It's a big year for Australian artists at the Grammys, with Flume and Tame Impala leading the way.

Tame Impala - aka Kevin Parker - is nominated for Best Rock Song for Lost In Yesterday and also Best Alternative Music Album for The Slow Rush, while Flume is nominated for Best Dance Recording - which he took out with Skin back in 2016 - for his track The Difference featuring Toro y Moi.

This year's Aussie contingent also includes Australian born Red Hot Chili Peppers member Flea is up for Best Spoken Word Album (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling) for his memoir Acid For The Children, while there's also connection to both INXS and Karnivool among the nominees (find out more about that here).
