Yours & Owls has had its forthcoming New Year's Day event cancelled due to the ongoing bushfire emergency.
Day Of Dance was due to go down on 1 January at a secret loading dock location within WIN Stadium in Wollongong, however both WIN Stadium and WIN Entertainment Centre are currently on standby as disaster recovery and emergency evacuation centres.
As such, Venues NSW has told organisers the event cannot proceed.
"Throwing fun and safe events for our patrons is (and always will) be our passion, so naturally this is absolutely devastating news for us," organisers shared in a statement provided to The Music.
"However, we also acknowledge that there is a much bigger, and more important picture at play here. Our disappointment in this outcome pales in comparison to the anguish, loss, and grief that the victims of these fires in our local community (and beyond) are currently experiencing."
Day Of Dance was set to feature the likes of Green Velvet, Rebūke, Patrice Baumel, Loods and more.
Refunds for the event are being processed and plans are being made for a new show, with the same line-up, where 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to the RFS.
