A song written over ten years ago by Australian-based outfit Elkington & Mohs has been remixed and released today in support of the current drought crisis throughout the country.

Another Prayer For Rain, initially written by the Minnesota duo (who have lived in the country for 30 years) during the 2007 drought, has been remixed by Vienna People producer Michael McGlynn and legendary engineer David Richards (Lady Gaga, The Killers and Green Day) and mastered by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer, William Bowden.

"When I first heard Another Prayer For Rain it moved me to tears," Richards said.

"It reminded me of my dear friends doing it tough in the bush and loved ones fighting fires up in Queensland so when I was asked to be involved I was there in a heartbeat. I wanted to help make the song sound as beautiful as possible and help out in any way I could."

All proceeds from sales and streaming of the track will be donated to the Country Women's Association (CWA).

Queensland drought commissioner Mark O'Brien AM has also championed the project calling it "a song and video of hope".

"Although we are all waiting for rain which is out of our control, we can continue to put our arms around our drought affected fellow Australians," O'Brien said.

"This beautiful song and video are reminders to them that they are never alone in this battle and that songwriters, musicians and producers are doing their bit to keep the farmers plight on the front page."
