Aussie independent booking agency Select Music has today announced it is teaming with social impact platform PLUS1.
PLUS1, which dedicates $1 from purchased show tickets to "effective non-profits addressing our most pressing social and environmental issues", has already raised over $50,000 in its partnership with Select on the back of tours from the likes of Skegss, Stella Donnelly, Montaigne, Ruby Fields and Japanese Wallpaper.
“As booking agents, we noticed a growing desire from our artists to give back and support causes close to their hearts and PLUS1 has given us an effective and ongoing solution with their initiative," Select senior booking agent, Casey O’Shaughnessy, said.
"As they say, it starts with just $1 but the collective impact of the community is exponentially bigger.
"Together, we can and are making big change.”
The funds raised from the recent local tours have assisted charities including Bush Heritage Australia, Adam Goodes’ Go Foundation, Minus18, Aboriginal Legal Services, Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation and Girls Rock!.
