Tones & I, real name Toni Watson, has added another impressive record to her ever-growing list of accolades, now holding the UK's longest running #1 single for 2019.

Dance Monkey has held onto the top spot of the Official Singles Chart for nine straight weeks now, overtaking Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's I Don't Care, which spent eight weeks in the position. She is a fair way off the all-time record which is currently held by Frankie Laine. His 1953 track, I Believe, spent 18 weeks on top.

Watson also now has the third longest-running #1 single ever by a female artist in the UK. That record is currently held by Rihanna’s Umbrella and Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, which both stayed in the pole position for ten weeks.

Earlier this month and closer to home, Tones & I rewrote ARIA chart history with Dance Monkey becoming the longest-running #1 ever in Australia. She is on track for her 18th-straight week.

Watson picked up a stack of awards at this week's ARIA Awards including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release, Breakthrough Artist and Best Independent Release. Check out all the other winners here.
