Australian ‘70s rock outfit Finch will return to the stage next year for the first time in four decades.

The group’s original line-up - Peter McFarlane (drums), Tony Strain (bass), Bob Spencer (guitar) and Owen Orford (vocals) – will perform two shows in NSW in January after jamming together this past June.

“Big smiles beamed instantly across the studio as we clicked from the first song,” Finch said.

“Boom! The original four members rediscovered that exhilarating source of joy from our youth – a shared passion for music of the time, so Finch is rearing to fly again.”

Forming in 1972 under the name Stillwater, the band then switched to Finch from ’73 – ’78 before being renamed again to Contraband in ’78 and then disbanding a year later.

The two reunion shows in January will feature original hits alongside songs from Cream, Free and Led Zeppelin.
