Tool fans are in luck today, with the group announcing a second Melbourne show.

The band's first Melbourne show, which is scheduled for Saturday 22 February, has already had its pre-sale exhausted.

Frontier Touring has now added a new date, with the group to now also play Rod Laver Arena on Sunday 23 February.

Fans can pick up pre-sale tickets for the new show from 3.30pm today, Wednesday 20 November.

The tour will kick off in Perth in mid-February before taking on Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, with special guests to be announced.

Tool dropped their first new album in 13 years back in August, titled Fear Inoculum. The album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Speaking with The Music ahead of the album’s release, Tool's Danny Carey said: “A lot of the thematic stuff on the album... is about reaching this point where you have the courage to conquer your fears and do whatever you want to do, and be creative and not care what other people think.

"We’re not the types who are going to get plastic surgery to try and look like we’re younger. I think we can grow old gracefully and be happy with ourselves. And that’s the gist of the record, I believe.”
