Trophy Eyes have announced they'll perform a bushfire benefit show in their home town next month, with proceeds to be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service.

In a statement issued this week, the band revealed that a friend and local music community figure, Sam Fenning (Same Old Story and The Cavalcade), lost his home to to the fires in Nymbodia.

"[Fenning] is currently on the search for his dog Otto who was separated from him in the peak of the fire. Sam was extremely lucky to escape with minor burns and cuts, as his Dad suffered more severe burns," the statement reads.

"But thankfully, both are alive today. Unfortunately, Sams house and belongings were not insured and they have to start again with nothing at all.

"We’ve decided to put together a special last minute hometown show to assist not only our close friend, but also our community & state as whole. As well as do our best to give a helping hand to the brave fire fighters and volunteers.

"All profits from this show will be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service as well as Sam Fenning & his family to help him make a fresh start.

"We had not planned to do a hometown show until next year, but with a big thanks to The Cambridge Hotel and our team, we have managed to make this work so we can get this to happen as soon as possible."
