Step Off Boomers - It Looks Like Violent Soho Are About To Drop New Music

It seems Violent Soho are capitalising on the 'Ok Boomer' craze and teasing new music in the process.

Spotted on Punt Road in Melbourne earlier today, the band have since shared photos on social media of a wall plastered with a poster bearing their name. It also reads, "There's a Baby Boomer across the street, and it won't stop staring at me." Hell (fuck) yeah. 

One can only assume the phrase comes from new music, which would be the band's first release since 2016's WACO. 

The timing for new music seems right - the band are currently gearing up to play Good Things Festival early next month - and three years seems like far too long a break for the legendary Brissie band. 

Fans have flocked in support of both the premise of new music and the band's timely 'Ok Boomer', one commenting, "Is this it? The promised times?"

Violent Soho made headlines last month when it was revealed the historic Mansfield Tavern, known in its heyday as the Rock Arena, would be demolished to build a dining and retail hub.

It’s sad to lose the Mansfield Rock Arena," guitarist James Tidswell said at the time.

"There’s a lot of Australian music history and I’m psyched my own band has been a part of that but it’s even more crazy seeing Mansfield itself start to gentrify."
