Acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute act No Quarter will touch down in Australia next month for a huge national tour.
Described as one of the best Led Zeppelin tribute acts around, the British outfit have come to know the iconic group’s catalogue in great detail, and so we had guitarist Bryan Christiansen share with us some of the band’s more underrated material.
IN MY TIME OF DYING
“Starts with a simple slide guitar and takes you on a journey through epic jams to end with a whisper and cough.”
FOUR STICKS
“The time signatures from 5/4 to 6/4 for one measure to 4/4 and back to 5/4 and its catchy groove keeps you going.”
SINCE I’VE BEEN LOVING YOU
“It’s labelled as blues, but really take a listen to the chord changes and the dynamic structure within a simple framework and it’s pure genius.”
RAIN SONG
“Just the alternative tunings of guitars make this song stand out. Written as an answer from Jimmy Page to George Harrison for his remark on Zeppelin not really having any ballads, Jimmy starts the song sarcastically with Something feel and then turns the music into a masterpiece. The dynamics stand-alone from small to powerful to a quiet yet elegant chord ending that leaves one breathless.”
