Celebrating the country’s burgeoning screen music industry, Screen Music Awards has unveiled its 2019 nominees.

The annual event will once again commemorate the achievements of those making music for documentaries, film, television and more, with 40 composers scoring recognition as the November ceremony quickly approaches.

Australian music legend Paul Kelly is among his year’s nominees, scoring praise for his original song Every Day My Mother’s Voice, which appeared on Adam Goodes documentary The Final Quarter.

Composing legends Bryony Marks, Caitlin Yeo, Antony Partos, Brett Aplin and David Bridie – who worked on projects such as Bloom, Danger Close: The Battle Of Long Tan, Little Monsters and more – have all picked up three nominations each.

Meanwhile, guitarist and composer Dan Luscombe, known for his stints with Blackeyed Susans, The Drones, Courtney Barnett and more, also picked up a nomination alongside Partos, with the duo collaborating on the score of acclaimed Netflix film I Am Mother.

Hosted by Justine Clark, the 2019 Screen Music Awards will be held at The Forum in Melbourne on November 20, with a “reinvigorated format” that will include a theatre-style sit-down dinner for guests before the main event.
