PNAU are in the running to score their third-straight ARIA Award for Best Dance Release next month, but Sam Littlemore isn't as confident this time around.
The Sydney legends' hit song, Solid Gold, is in the running against a number of other hits including RÜFÜS DU SOL's Solace and FISHER's You Little Beauty and, if they win, would go back to back to back following 2018's win with Go Bang and 2017 winner Chameleon.
Speaking to The Music at the ARIAs nominations launch on Thursday, Littlemore said the success of Go Bang and Chameleon, which went x3 and x4 Platinum respectively, may never be matched.
"But I like the fact that we just went, 'You know what? Stuff it. It is what it is. It's a different record. We're trying different things,'" Littlemore said of Solid Gold.
"I'm really happy with the mix and the production, so I feel good in that regard.
"[Go Bang and Chameleon] might end up being the best things we ever did. They're great records and I feel like they were recognised. So, that's cool.
"And if we don't win for Solid Gold that gives us a kick up the bum to try a bit harder and keep at it."
While this makes PNAU the act with the most wins of all time in this category, other acts to have scored the award more than once include Flume and The Presets (both twice).
