Byron Bay-based artist Tones & I, aka Toni Watson, continues her world chart dominance, hitting #1 in the United Kingdom with her hit single Dance Monkey.

She takes top spot on the official UK Singles chart, after climbing the Top 100 consecutively for nine weeks.

According to the official charts website, Watson first entered the UK chart at #82 in August and this week jumps six spots to land in first place. She has over 50,000 chart sales, including 5.1 million streams.

"Thank you so much UK for your support on this track, I can’t wait to come over soon and celebrate with you all," Watson told the publication.

Dance Monkey is the first UK #1 by an Australian artist in five years, last achieved by Iggy Azalea’s Problem.

She has also peaked at #1 in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland (so far).

Her global dominance continues across the world with Dance Monkey #1 on the Global Shazam Chart since 3 September.

Watson is also on track on to make ARIA chart history today and record the longest streak at #1 for a local artist.
