Air Mofo is back, baby!

After its maiden voyage earlier this year, much-loved Tassie festival Mona Foma has today announced its purple and yellow party plane will be returning for their 2020 event.

Even better though, for its second journey Mona Foma and Tourism Tasmania are giving away the entire flight to just one winner.

Launching this morning, the first person to find Air Mofo on Mona Foma's interactive map will score themselves - and their 149 mates - tickets and flights to the festival.

“In the modern world most of us can count our friends on the fingers of both hands," said Mona Foma curator Brian Ritchie

"So you’ll need 30 hands if you’re gonna fill up your winning Air Mofo flight by finding the location of our Air Mofo jet. It’s located somewhere in Tasmania but not somewhere that starts with A, B or Z."

"I’m pretty sure this has never been done before," added Tourism Tasmania CEO John Fitzgerald

"There’s probably a good reason for that. Nonetheless, hopefully this promo gets Mainlanders exploring every square satellite metre of our amazing island. Who knows where the plane is hidden? I don’t. They won’t tell me. I’d put it on a beach."

The prize is valued at nearly $100,000 and the first lot of clues started dropping this morning. The competition will officially run from 10-14 October, with the winner announced on 15 October. Head here for all the info.

Mona Foma will take place in Launceston from 11-19 January 2020. The Music had a seat on the inaugural Air Mofo flight earlier this year, read about it here.
