London Artist Nilüfer Yanya Announces Fairgrounds Festival Sideshows

Rising pop sensation Nilüfer Yanya has confirmed a run of East Coast headline dates around her appearance at Fairgrounds Festival.

The London artist, who released her acclaimed debut album, Miss Universe, in March will play her first-ever dates in the country in December, kicking things off in Melbourne before taking on Brisbane, Fairgrounds and rounding things out with a Sydney show.

“Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me and I get trapped,” Yanya said of single In Your Head when the album was announced earlier this year.

“There’s the things I need disguised as things I think I only want, things I think I’m choosing out of choice not necessity. Sometimes this only becomes clear in retrospect, or maybe it will never become clear. 

“Some people may call that being paranoid. I think that’s what I wrote the song about, but what’s interesting to me, and what I think I was trying to get at, is the illusion of freedom.”
