The team behind beloved Gold Coast venue Nightquarter are set to open a brand new venue on the Sunshine Coast next month.
Ian Van Der Woude and Michelle Christoe will launch the Malt Shovel Taphouse with an opening party on Saturday 12 October which promises a selection of craft beer breweries and, of course, live music.
“Malt Shovel Taphouse is all the journey of discovery into the world of craft beer," Van Der Woude said.
"We are introducing a playful and interactive ‘exbeerience’ with a ‘Quenching, Cracking and Flavour-Packing’ guided beer journey."
Local artists Dosed and Matty Rogers will perform at the opening party, with the Taphouse to showcase live music regularly at the venue.

The news comes ahead of Nightquarter's relaunch, expected to open later this year, after it was confirmed the venue was also relocating to the Sunshine Coast due to Van Der Woude and Christoe being unable to reach an agreement with the Nightquarter landlord over a significant increase in rent.
