It's official - Seinfeld is coming to Netflix.
As reported by LA Times, Netflix announced on Monday it had confirmed the rights to the iconic TV sitcom and will stream all 180 episodes to subscribers around the world in 2021.
The announcement comes after the streaming giants locked down a deal with Sony Pictures Television who control the distribution for the "show about nothing".
“Seinfeld is the television comedy that all television comedy is measured against,” Netflix Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, said in a statement.
“It is as fresh and funny as ever and will be available to the world in 4K for the first time.”
Seinfeld hit Australian streaming service Stan in November 2016, however it is not clear if Sony's partnership with Netflix will affect Stan's deal.
The Music has contacted Stan for comment.
Seinfeld is widely considered as one of the greatest TV shows of all time and it picked up ten Emmys and three Golden Globe awards during its run between 1989-1998.
The main cast also scored a string of Emmy nominations, while Michael Richards (Kramer) took out the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series gong three times and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine Benes) won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award once.
