Tones & I’s reign on the Aussie charts is set to continue this week, with the Bryon Bay-based singer-songwriter primed for a #1 debut on the Albums chart with her debut EP, The Kids Are Coming.
The local act – who will make her highly-anticipated BIGSOUND debut tonight – will just need to beat music legends Tool, whose comeback LP, Fear Inoculum, is also vying for the top spot.
Few BIGSOUND acts have had such a specular rise into the spotlight in the lead up to their showcase, with Tones & I not only holding onto #1 on the ARIA Singles chart for five weeks with Dance Monkey, but also making her way up the UK Singles chart.
Meanwhile, G Flip is looking to enter the Albums Chart top 10 with About Us, as Montaigne’s Complex (top 20), Ash Grunwald’s Mojo (top 30) and DZ Deathrays’ Positive Rising: Part 1 (top 50) also debut.
Outside of local talent, Lana Del Rey’s Norman F**King Rockwell! is expected to make a top 5 debut, while Lil Tecca’s We Love You Tecca and Wage War’s Pressure also make an appearance.
Over on the Singles chart, Tones & I is expected to hold onto #1 with Dance Monkey, while Post Malone’s Circles debuts in the top 10 and Lizzo’s Good As Hell also enters the chart.
