Burgeoning Australian artist Tones & I has achieved a huge feat on this past weekend's ARIA Singles chart which hasn't been accomplished in over five years.
The Byron Bay-based songwriter has posted three songs in the top 25 - Dance Monkey (#1), Johnny Run Away (#17) and Never Seen The Rain (#24) - which an Australian act hasn't done since 30 June 2014 by Sydney outfit 5 Seconds Of Summer (Amnesia at #7, Everything I Didn't Say at #11 and Kiss Me Kiss Me at #14).
Not only has Dance Monkey charted at #1 for the second straight week, but it also made its debut on the UK Singles chart on the weekend, coming in at #82.
The news comes only a week after Tones & I became the first Australian act to reach top spot on the Singles chart in 2019.
"I'm so glad it's an Australian artist at the top of the ARIA charts," Tones & I told The Music last week.
"I feel so thankful and appreciate all the support. Go Australian music!"
Tones & I is already one of the most-talked about artists heading to Brisbane next month for BIGSOUND 2019 before she embarks on her debut headline tour of Australia.
