New South Wales Police have said they are pleased with overall crowd behaviour at this year's Splendour In The Grass despite over 200 attendees being charged with drug offences.
It's reported that more than 350 drug detections were made during an operation at the festival with over 2.8kg of drugs seized, the majority of which was MDMA tablets and cannabis.
A 21-year-old Queensland man was arrested at the event after police located more than 220 MDMA tablets, cocaine and cannabis in a vehicle at the festival's campground.
The man has been charged with supply prohibited drug greater than indictable quantity and possess prohibited drug and has since been granted bail. He will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 5 August.
"This year, a record amount of prohibited drugs was seized at Splendour in the Grass - it’s disappointing that despite the warnings, we continue to detect the possession and supply of these illicit substances," said Tweed/Byron Police District Commander, Superintendent Dave Roptell of this year's event.
"Not only is it a serious criminal offence, it is also harmful to your health; it can impact not only your life, but the lives of those around you.
"The safety of festival-goers remains our number one priority."
