Australia's peak body representing the interests of Australian managers, the Association Of Artist Managers (AAM) has today announced Melbourne's Cath Haridy as its new Executive Director.

The appointment follows the departure of Leanne De Souza in May and will see Haridy take on the gig having worked at both Warner Music and Festival Mushroom Records in A&R, as well as establishing Cath Haridy Management with a roster that boasted the likes of Eskimo Joe, Jebediah and Bob Evans.

Already on the AAM board since 2010, Haridy is also a current board member of Support Act and Music Victoria and is an APRA Ambassador.

"I'm honoured to be taking on the role of Executive Director for the AAM for the remainder of 2019 to steer the association in conjunction with our stellar board and team," Haridy said.

"I believe in the crucial role managers play in the pursuit of a successful artist career and I hope to focus on the ongoing needs of our community to deliver better professional outcomes for their businesses and that of their artists."

The AAM said they are "very excited" for Haridy to take on the Executive Director role.

"She has had an incredible career as an artist manager and is highly respected across the industry, especially in the management community.

"She has been an integral part of the AAM as a former Chair and valued Board member, so this is a natural progression for the organisation. It's an important time for managers globally with the role they currently play across the sector and we couldn't think of anyone better to lead the association into the next phase."
