A plagiarism lawsuit between Ed Sheeran and Marvin Gaye has been put on hold until a case regarding Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven is settled.
The UK songwriter was sued in 2016 by the heirs of the late Gaye and Ed Townsend, who wrote 1973 song Let's Get It On, who alleged Sheeran ripped parts of the track for his own hit, Thinking Out Loud.
Meanwhile, fellow British act Led Zeppelin are embroiled in their own copyright lawsuit for allegedly stealing the riff for Stairway To Heaven from '60s rock band Spirit's Taurus.
According to Rolling Stone, the judge for Sheeran's case, Louis Staton, has decided to wait on making a ruling on the case until the Zeppelin case is settled, which is due for a rehearing in September.
Staton reportedly told parties for both Sheeran and Gaye to "take the summer off!"
It is not expected the case will resume until next year.
