Elton John & Tim Rice Have Written A New Track For 'The Lion King' Remake

Jon Favreau's live action remake of The Lion King is less than a month from release and it's been revealed that Elton John and Tim Rice have reunited to write a brand new track for the film's soundtrack. 

The yet to be released song, Never Too Late, is to performed by John accompanied by an African choir and will appear over the end film's credits. 

The film's track listing has now been released, featuring a revisited score from Hans Zimmer and performances from cast members Donald Glover, Beyonce, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen and more. 

While most of details for the soundtrack have been shared, track 14 has been left as 'TBA' causing speculation that Beyonce, who plays Nala in the film, may contribute her own track. Check out the recently released version of Can You Feel The Love Tonight? from Beyonce and Donald Glover below.

"Just hearing that music strikes you deeply," says Favreau of the soundtrack. 

"Even if you don’t know the film or stage show, there is a spiritual strength in it. But if you know the film, and if you grew up with this music — now it can suddenly and immediately evoke the story itself, as well as all the connected memories and emotions that you have from your own past experience with The Lion King, or from the time of your life that you were in, or your childhood, or the life events it’s connected to."

It's a big year for John with his biopic Rocketman released late last month, which has also seen him work with longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin for new track (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again for the film.
