Jimmy Barnes Could Break A Very Important Record On This Week's ARIA Chart

Jimmy Barnes dropped his latest album, My Criminal Record, last week and it's looking likely that his 17th solo studio album could clinch a pretty big record for the much-loved Aussie singer. 

Barnes is currently the joint record holder for most #1 albums on the ARIA Albums Chart, an honour he shares with U2 and Madonna who all have 11 chart topping albums. 

Given that it's expected for My Criminal Record to land in at least the top three on the chart this week, there's a pretty high chance that Barnes could beat the international heavyweights for the title if he can secure the top spot.

The title may not Barnes' for long though as Madonna's Madame X album is set to drop next week. 

It is shaping up to be a big week on the chart, with both Miley Cyrus' She Is Coming and Thomas Rhett's Center Point Road vying for top 10 spots for their albums, while Skepta's Ignorance Is Bliss and Denzel Curry's Zuu are both looking for top 15. Susan Boyle's Ten is likely to land in the top 20, while Frank Iero & The Future Violents' Barriers is looking at top 50.

The cinematic release of the Elton John biopic Rocketman sees John likely to hit the top three with Diamonds, while the film's soundtrack is looking at top five. Cardi B's Invasion Of Privacy is expected to re-enter the top 40.

Over on the Singles Chart, Katy Perry's new track Never Really Over is vying for top 10, while Cyrus' Mother's Daughter is looking for top 30 and YG's Go Loko (feat. Tyga & Jon Z) is looking for top 50. 

Young Thug's The London (feat. J Cole & Travis Scott) is likely for top 15, while Aussie act Tones & I is looking at top 20 for Johnny Run Away, just a week after her inking a deal with Paradigm Talent Agency in the US.
