With just 36 days to go until Bello Winter Music festival, organisers have revealed the massive Opening Night Gala that will kick off the 2019 event.
Held in Bellingen Memorial Hall on Thursday 11 July, the night will feature performances by a selection of festival acts as "a thrilling taste of the wonders of the weekend to come".
Claire Anne Taylor, Archer and Gleny Rae Virus have created a one-off performance titled A Midwinter Night’s Dream, and audiences will also be treated to performances by Hat Fitz & Cara, Ethno Folk Orchestra, Miss Friby, Greg Sheehan, Leah Flanagan, Joe Newton and one of the winners of the Youth Mentorship Program (still to be announced). The night will be hosted by comedian Mandy Nolan.
“We like to kick off Bello Winter Music with a celebration,” says Festival Director Glenn Wright.
“Bello’s Opening Night Gala is the perfect way to get a taste of what’s to come and sets the tone for the festival. It’s kind of like musical speed dating and lots of fun for the artists and the audience. We’re thrilled that Claire Anne Taylor, Archer and Gleny Rae Virus have created a special one-off performance for the night.”
