Aussie hip hop maestro Briggs has been confirmed to headline next week’s State of Origin pre-match show in Brisbane.
He’ll perform on June 5 alongside an “immersive laser and pyrotechnic display”, offering up his own music and “a special tribute to some of Queensland’s greatest ever players”.
“When State of Origin came to Melbourne in 1994, we drove two and a half hours from Shepparton for it,” Briggs said.
“It sparked my love for the game, there was nothing like it - and now full circle, I get to play at one of the greatest events on Australia’s sporting calendar.”
The news follows Briggs’ Vivid LIVE performance last night, prior to which he invited newly instated Labor leader Anthony Albanese to open the gig with a DJ set. Unfortunate, that did not happen.
