Over the years, newly instated Labor leader Anthony Albanese has made a name for himself as one of the countries most-beloved politicians-turned-DJs, and he’s now being called upon by Aussie hip hop maestro Briggs to take the stage tonight at Vivid LIVE.

Briggs’ Bad Apples House Party is set to take over Sydney Opera House tonight, with Dan Sultan, Jessica Mauboy, Electric Fields and more in tow, and he’s now extended an invite to DJ Albo via Twitter and Instagram to kick the night off.

The Opposition leader featured in a segment of The Weekly last month, where he and Briggs rode around on a bike, talking politics, music (“I like to pretend to be [a DJ]”) and more before sharing a beer.

“So like, did you just fall into being a DJ or is it because you’re a closet wanker?” Briggs joked during the segment.

With Albanese being appointed the Labor leader this week, it seems fitting he’d celebrate with a DJ set during Vivid.
