Some of the biggest names in the Australian music industry have been listed in Billboard's prestigious International Power Players list for 2019 today.
Mushroom Group Executive Chairman Michael Gudinski AM, who came in at #1 on the Power 50 released in March, and Live Nation Australia Chairman Michael Coppel were both recognised in the 'Live' category.
Meanwhile, Sony Music Entertainment, Chairman & CEO (Australia & NZ) & President (Asia), Denis Handlin AO, and Universal Music Asia Pacific President George Ash, who placed at #3 and #4 respectively in the Power 50, received nods in the 'Recording' category.
New York-based Downtown Music Publishing's Creative Director/Head of Sync for Australia and New Zealand Rachel Kelly also cracked the list in the 'Publishing' category.
Australian music fans also got a shout-out of sorts from Concord Music Publishing's Senior Vice President/Co-heads of International Rebecca Berman and Michael Nance in regards to one of their clients, US rapper Denzel Curry, who has racked up over 175 million streams outside of the US.
Berman credited Curry's highly-praised Like A Version performance of Rage Against The Name's Bulls On Parade in February, which has since been viewed over five million times on YouTube.
“What we do at Concord is not necessarily a pop game, so that was massive,” Berman said.
“I’m really proud.”
