Melbourne music manager Lorrae McKenna has today been announced as the 2019 recipient of APRA AMCOS' prestigious Lighthouse Award

The award, established in memory of Melbourne industry figure Linda Gebar, grants $5,000 to a female Victorian music manager "who exhibits passion, creativity and integrity".

McKenna founded artist management company Our Golden Friend in 2015 and has also guided the careers of names such as Jess Ribeiro, RVG and Jade Imagine.

In 2017, McKenna expanded Our Golden Friend with a joint venture deal alongside Island Records and Universal Music Australia.

"I feel completely overwhelmed with emotion to receive this award," McKenns said.

"Not only because of the financial impact that the grant's funds will have on the trajectory of my career, and the career of the artists that I manage, but mainly because of the award’s connection to Linda and everything she stood for within the music industry."

Past recipients of the Lighthouse Award include Charlotte Abroms, Jen Cloher, Bonnie Dalton, Bernadette Ryan and Sabrina Robertson.
