If you missed out of Splendour In The Grass tickets, rejoice, because the event's resale facility will be launched for buyers next Monday.

Opening for sellers this Friday 10 May before hopeful ticket holders will be able to get in on the action on 13 May, festival organisers were firm in reiterating this was the "only fair, safe and secure way" to buy and sell tickets for the event. The resale facility will be open for sellers until 30 June and will close for buyers on 17 July.

"It is the ONLY fair, safe and secure way for ticket buyers to sell their Splendour in the Grass 2019 tickets," a statement on the website reads.

"For those still wanting to buy a ticket, this is the ONLY way to secure a legitimate ticket to Splendour. Tickets cannot be obtained through any other means, such as online auction sites or by direct transfer from another individual, and any scalping will not be tolerated. All festival and camping tickets are checked against your ID at the gate – if the name on your ID and DOB do not match your ticket, you will not be allowed in."

Sellers will be charged a $30.00 resale administration fee and and will lose the original booking fees and credit card charges. The festival was forced to defend itself last year over the fee when punters accused it of "scamming everyone that wants to go to Splendour".

"There are hard costs associated with being able to offer the resale facility - tech development, administration, labour and ongoing management, a huge amount of inquiries, complications," Splendour In The Grass director Jess Ducrou told Hack at the time.

"I know there’s suggestions that we’re making a bunch of money out of this, and yes we’re a business and we do need to make money from the event, but we’re definitely not retiring off this resale."
