Members of The Delta Riggs, The Preatures, BAD//DREEMS and The Panics will team up for Melbourne’s first-ever Rock & Roll Circus next month.

The free event from Newtown legends Young Henrys will make its “sweaty, beer-fuelled” debut in the city on May 15 at Northcote Social Club during the ninth annual Good Beer Week.

The supergroup headlining the event will perform “some all-time classic hits and cheeky favourites”.

"Rock’N’Roll Circus was a simple idea... imagine getting all our mates from different bands together to form a super band, letting them all play a song they've always wanted to play? Sounds like a blast right? Well, it is,” Young Henrys co-founder Oscar McMahon said.

“Musicians are musicians because they were music fans first and there is nothing better than watching someone you admire get giddy and excited as they perform a song that has meant something to them in their musical history.

“It's fun and it's music for fun and music's sake and it has been the highlight of the YH calendar for three years in a row now. We're bloody excited to be bringing it to Melbourne for the first time this May. I have a feeling people are going to dig it!”

The Delta Riggs bass player Michael Tramonte added: “We all love this project that Young Henrys has driven for the last few years, I’m honoured to be asked again for the inaugural Melbourne jaunt.

“We have put together a bunch of rad artists again too. The wonderful thing about events like this is the sense of community it brings along with it. It shows people that music is fun and can be for everyone. It’s why we all do it.”
