Fans of The Office got an unexpected but very appreciated dose of Michael Scott on Billie Eilish's single, my strange addiction, and it turns out the cast of the show were in on it.

Eilish's track samples a number of quotes from the famous Threat Level Midnight episode and according to actor and writer BJ Novak (Ryan... yes, the fire guy), all cast members heard in the track needed to approve, which includes Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling and Ed Helms.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Novak said, "I was fine with it regardless.

"But I was like ‘Wow, bonus: This is a banger.’”

If you haven't heard my strange addiction, then do yourself a favour and check it out below. We're here to say, you're about to do 'The Scarn' in a major way.

It comes after Eilish's debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, smashed the Australian music charts this past weekend.

The US songwriter is the youngest person in ARIA chart history to top both charts, overtaking Adele who was 21 and a half when she broke the record in June 2011, with her album 21.

Eilish also claimed six tracks in the top 10, beating Sheeran's March 2017 record of five tracks, with Bad Guy at #1, Bury A Friend at #3, Wish You Were Gay at #5, When The Party's Over at #7, All The Good Girls Go To Hell at #8 and Xanny at #10.
