If there's anything better than scoring a #1 album in Australia, it's cracking music charts in multiple countries which is exactly what Dean Lewis has done this week.
After his debut record, A Place We Knew, came in at top spot on this past weekend's ARIA Albums chart, the Aussie artist's LP has debuted at #18 on the US Billboard Top 200 list, as well as #7 in New Zealand and #15 in Canada.
A Place We Knew has also charted in Switzerland (#11), Ireland (#20), Netherlands (#21), Norway (#25), Belgium (#30), Germany (#32), Sweden (#37) and the UK (#37).
If that wasn't enough, the album has been streamed 850 million time globally since it's release last Friday. Overall, the Sydney songwriter's music, both EPs and album, have accumulated 1.42 billion streams globally.
Of his top-charting debut in Australia, Lewis said, "It's such an honour and a dream to have a #1 album in Australia.
"I never thought this was possible a few years ago. Thank you to my amazing team in Australia at Island Records and everyone who has supported my music. Anything is possible."
Lewis will return to Australia in May for a headline tour in support of the album; click on theGuide for more details.
