The Grass Roots Indie Development (GRID) series has today opened applications for artists and bands living, working or studying in Melbourne's Wyndham area.
The program has been a Victorian-based initiative since 2013 but has expanded in 2019 to emerging music communities within the outer suburbs of Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
The Melbourne Deep West program, announced today, will include a weekend of one-on-one mentoring with music industry professionals, a song development session, a fully produced track recorded at Box Hill Institute’s Sing Sing East studios, a live video and a single launch showcase.
The program will include sessions with Ecca Vandal, Lior and Joel Ma, industry professionals Dave Morgan (Tash Sultana, Maddy Jane, Riley Pierce) and Vader Fame and producers Anna Laverty (Courtney Barnett, Paul Dempsey, Peep Tempel, Ruby Boots), Oscar Dawson (Alex Lahey, Ali Barter, Busby Marou, Holy Holy) and Russell Fawcus (Slum Sociable, The Temper Trap).
