The full 2019 program for Melbourne’s Yirramboi Festival has arrived, with a stack of music, dance, theatre, film and other events confirmed to take over more than 25 venues around the city.

Running from 2 – 12 May, the arts and cultural festival will feature more than 100 events, all of which will “celebrate and demonstrate innovative, modern practices of First Nations creatives, showcasing unique talents and perspectives”.

The music line-up features the likes of Archie Roach, Yothu Yindi & The Treaty Project, Dan Sultan, Alice Skye, Benny Walker, Deborah Cheetham, Jaeden Williams, Kate ten Buuren, SojuGang and more.

“YIRRAMBOI means ‘tomorrow’ in the shared local languages of the Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung peoples, and the program is all about what’s next. While the cultures belong to First Peoples, it is our shared history, and our chance to create the vision for the future,” Creative Director Caroline Martin said.

“Hear the music of our local superstars, be absorbed by thought-provoking new theatre and unexpected dance performance, check out exhibitions, markets and fashion parades from more than 200 absolutely magnificent First Nations creatives. YIRRAMBOI is an incredible chance for us all to celebrate together.”
