With the 2019 edition of SXSW set to kick off this week, some of the Australian acts heading to Texas have already made an impression on the US in a big way.

Three of the country's top emerging artists have placed on US broadcaster NPR's Austin 100 list, "a hundred handpicked highlights from among the thousands of acts playing SXSW 2019".

Included on the list today is Melbourne's Angie McMahon and Sydney artists Odette and Rachael Fahim.

Adding to this, Fahim is the only country music singer to be included on this year's Austin 100.

McMahon, Odette and Fahim join an elite group of Australian acts who have previously featured in the list, including Gang Of Youths, Middle Kids, Tkay Maidza and G Flip.
