Triple J is sounding pretty good this week. The station already shared their International Women's Day programming line-up this morning, and they've also dropped a pretty great list of tracks that'll be added to rotation this week.
WA artist Stella Donnelly has picked up this week's Feature Album, with her debut Beware Of The Dogs. The release of the album comes off the back of a huge 18 months for Donnelly, following her breakout appearance at BIGSOUND in 2017, extensive touring and recent stint supporting John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins on their national tour.
Donnelly dropped the first single from the album, Old Man, last month.
“I came up with the chords and chorus to this song in 2017 around the time when Woody Allen called the #MeToo movement a witch hunt," she shares.
"It was a very strange feeling for me watching the world change right before my eyes and to see that these men who had exploited their power for so long were actually being held accountable for their actions." Watch the clip below.
Along with Beware Of The Dogs, a stack of local talent have had tracks added to regular rotation, including DZ Deathrays, Briggs, Jesswar & Trials' Front Row Hustle, Alice Ivy's Close To You (feat. Flint Eastwood), WAAX's FU, Hatchie's Without A Blush, and Cosmo's Midnight's C.U.D.I (Can U Dig It).
Duke Dumont's Red Light Green Light (feat. Shaun Ross), August 08's Blood On My Hands (feat. Smino), and Jai Wolf's Lose My Mind (feat. Mr Gabriel) have also been picked up for rotation.
Thandi Phoenix & Sigma's Say It, beabadoobee's If You Want To, RedHook's Paralysed, Riley Pearce's Windmill, and Hello Yello's I Don't Care have all scored spots.
