With her highly anticipated new record set to drop next week, Perth singer-songwriter Stella Donnelly has unveiled a new single.
Tricks is another taste of Beware Of The Dogs, and is accompanied by a music video shot in Melbourne and co-directed by Nick McKk and Julia Jacklin.
“This song is a playful zoom-in on the ‘Australian Identity’ and a loose dig at the morons that used to yell shit at me when I played cover gigs on Sunday afternoons,” Donnelly said.
“It probably served me right for singing Wonderwall every weekend.”
Jacklin added: "I wanted to have a dancer in the style of an Australian tap dog following Stella around Melbourne and trying to get her attention as she goes about her day. Is he real? Is he in her imagination? Not sure."
Beware Of The Dogs drops next Friday and will be supported by a run of East Coast shows before Donnelly heads to the US, Canada, UK and Europe.
