ARIA have today announced the appointment of four new Directors to its Board.
Joining the board are Warner Music Australia's Business Affair Director Libby Blakey, Universal Music Australia's Senior Vice President Legal & Business Affairs Australia & New Zealand Karen Don, Sony Music Entertainment's General Manager, Digital & Business Development Australia, New Zealand & Asia Sophie McArthur, and Head of ABC Music & Events Natalie Waller.
The news comes after changes to the way board members are appointed were announced in November last year in an effort to increase diversity and inclusiveness.
They join Sony Music Australia's Denis Handlin AO (Chair), Universal Music Australia's George Ash, MGM's Sebastian Chase, Warner Music Australia's Niko Nordstrom and Rubber's David Vodicka on the board.
In addition to the ARIA Board appointments, Warner Music Australia's Head Of Synchronisation Emily Crews has been announced as the first-ever participant in the ARIA Observership program, which "aims to provide a professional development experience for rising talent within ARIA member companies to learn more about the fundamentals principles and functions of Boards, decision making processes and corporate governance."
"Each of these quality executives will bring valuable additional perspectives and experiences that will further advance and benefit the Board and industry as a whole."
"I congratulate Emily on becoming the inaugural participant for the ARIA Observership program. ARIA is pleased to be able to offer Emily this unique opportunity and we look forward to her joining us at our Board meetings in 2019," continues ARIA Chief Executive Dan Rosen.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Libby, Karen, Sophie and Natalie to the ARIA Board Of Directors. It is extremely exciting to have four of our industry’s most respected and passionate people to bring their experience to the ARIA Board."
