WA's newest live music venue Freo.Social will open its doors in early April, today unveiling 40 shows for the coming months.
The venue’s Entertainment Hall will host Fremantle legends John Butler Trio, The Waifs, San Cisco and Superego during its first week (aptly titled Freo.Week), while touring acts Montaigne, Middle Kids, Dan Sultan and stacks more also sign on for shows this year.
“We are extremely proud to confirm such an exciting and local line-up for the Entertainment Hall’s opening week,” director Dave Chitty said.
“We’ve also confirmed a really diverse entertainment program designed to appeal to, and attract, a broad range of people to the venue, from lovers of culture and the arts, to live music and performance followers.
“Entertainment Hall will offer something for everyone. Alongside music we have built in a wide spectrum of creative performances spanning comedy, opera, community, dance, theatre, big band and dining.”
Freo.Social will occupy the historic Artillery Drill Hall, which once hosted Fly By Night, with the Entertainment Hall undergoing $250,000 worth of renovations in recent months.
The 550-person capacity live music venue has upgraded acoustics, a new sound system, multi-level viewing and more.
