Three people have been injured after a truck reportedly rolled onto a tent at the Rainbow Serpent festival campsite in Victoria on Thursday.

Rainbow Serpent organisers have confirmed one of the festivalgoers was airlifted after suffering serious injuries, while the remaining two have been listed as stable and transferred to Ballarat hospital from the Lexton site.

According to The Age, the circumstances surrounding the incident are now being investigated by police.

"Our thoughts are with the injured and their families," Rainbow Serpent spokesperson, Tim Harvey, said.

"We know the entire Rainbow community will be thinking of them all weekend but it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this stage."

Event emergency response coordinator, Matthew Wood, added, "We have all emergency services on site, including medical and ambulance and run training exercises to prepare for responding to any serious incident.

"Procedures were followed as planned and our thoughts are with the victims."

The festival is scheduled to commence today.
