After leading the charge across some of Sydney’s most beloved live music venues, Mark Gibbons has been announced as the new Head Booker of two Brisbane venue.
As of February 4, Gibbons will take over bookings at beloved Queensland venue The Triffid, while also looking after Fortitude Music Hall once it opens in the near future.
“With the rapid growth and changes Brisbane is undergoing, there's a clear need in the city for a 3000+ capacity venue,” Gibbons said.
“I believe that a city is only as strong as its culture. Much has already been achieved in a short amount of time since the Triffid opened; with a core ethos on hospitality forwards and backwards from stage. The community that it's spawned are testament to that. I'm looking forward to getting started.”
Fortitude Music Hall, a joint venture between Secret Sounds, Live Nation and the Triffid team, is expected to open mid 2019.
“After the success of opening the Triffid four years ago I’m pumped about extending this ethos into a new larger venue, the Fortitude Music Hall” venue director John Collins said.
“I’m excited about working with Mark, his expertise in booking multiple venues will be a massive asset for both the Triffid and the Fortitude Music Hall.
“His energy and enthusiasm is going to make him a great part of the team. I’m looking forward to working alongside him and building a great experience for the artist and Brisbane’s music fans.”
Over the past six years, Gibbons has booked the likes of Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, Factory Theatre and more.
