The last-minute cancellation comes after a number of other events in the state were called off with extreme winds and thunderstorms expected.

Farnham was scheduled to play A Day On The Green tonight alongside Mondo Rock, Kate Ceberano and The Badloves, but the show has now been moved to February 4.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused, however the decision was made in the interest of public safety,” a statement from the promoter reads.

All tickets for tonight’s show will be valid for the new date. Punters wishing to obtain a refund can do so until January 8.
