Melbourne outfit The Teskey Brothers have been forced to axe their set at Fairgrounds Festival tonight at the last minute.

Organisers have confirmed that the set, scheduled to go ahead at 5.55pm, will not be going ahead as transport delays have resulted in the band being forced to call off the show.

The Teskey Brothers' have shared a statement to their Facebook page, saying that "Virgin Australia Airlines failed several attempts to get us off the ground so we got stuck in Melbourne".

"Virgin Australia really messed us around on this one. We were at Melbourne airport for 5 hours being promised we would get on the 'next flight' but it just didn’t eventuate," added The Teskey Brothers in a statement to The Music.

"When you have a tight schedule between radio commitments and shows it can sometimes happen but it’s a real shame we didn’t get to be part of the fun at Fairgrounds this year. We’ve heard many great things about that festival."
