Proving once again the he’s a green machine, Jack Johnson has announced that he’s banning single use plastic water bottles on his current Australian tour.

The ban has been enforced within Johnson’s crew for over a decade and now his audiences will feel the same pressure.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own empty reusable water bottle, making sure it’s not glass, to refill at free water stations that will be dotted throughout the sites.

This new development comes in a long line of the singer's Green Touring initiative including sourcing local, organic food as part of a ‘farm to stage’ program, producing upcycled and eco-friendly merchandise, expanding waste reduction, composting and recycling as well as offering bike valets and alternative transportation incentives.

Tickets to Johnson’s Melbourne show are on sale now; for more information, check out theGuide.
