UPDATE:
Vanfest promoter Matt Clifton has told The Music they will "make it up to the fans" following the cancellation of today's event.
“It saddens me to have to make the choice to cancel the event, but the safety of our punters and artists is our priority,” Clifton told.
“We weren’t able to provide this year, but keep an eye on us, because next year is going to be one hell of a year.
“The apology goes out to everybody, unfortunately [this year] can’t be done, but we’ll provide a show next year that I’m sure the fans will want to come back for."
The second and final day of Central West event Vanfest has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions in the area.
With doors initially scheduled to open at 1pm, promoters have confirmed to The Music today will not go ahead, stating the decision has been made to keep punters, crew and artists safe.
The Music’s team on the ground report flooding, lightning and severe winds within the town, as seen below.
Dune Rats, Tash Sultana and more were scheduled to perform today after Amy Shark, Luke Million and others performed yesterday.
Vanfest issued the following statement via Facebook shortly after this story was published:
“The safety of our patrons, artists, and staff is paramount, and our team of Vanfest staff, and local volunteers have pulled together in numbers to ensure the safe exit of all campers from the festival site,” organisers said.
