Amid a sea of international pop stars and Christmas releases, Australian legend Daryl Braithwaite has smashed into ARIA Albums Chart to debut at #5 with his latest release.
The high placement of Braithwaite’s new compilation, Days Go By, tops off an absolute stellar week for the artist, after the former Sherbet singer was inducted into ARIA Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
Gang Of Youths also walked away from the ARIAs on a high, and their numerous awards for Go Farther In Lightness has seen the acclaimed LP rocket back up the Albums Chart to #12.
Midweek figures showed a number of artists vying for Taylor Swift’s spot at #1, and with an expanding Australian tour slated for next year, P!nk has knocked Reputation from top place with her latest effort, Beautiful Trauma.
Other notable debuts on the Albums Chart include Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds’ Who Built The Moon? (#18), Björk’s Utopia (#22), and Hopsin’s No Shame (#37).
Over on the Singles Chart, there’s new music from Timmy Trumpet, BTS and Desiigner and a re-entry from classic Aussie anthem The Horses by Braithwaite.
